This charcoal iron was widely used throughout Nigeria in the 1960′s. It used charcoal to heat up and was very dependable. It did not rely on electricity to work. How many of us can relate to this
Primus Stoves were widely used in Nigeria in the 1960’s and early 1970’s after the civil war and could be used in diverse situations, such as for indoor and outdoor cooking. After the Nigeria/Biafran civil war ended, there was no central feeding in the college dormitories in most boarding schools. I and many other fellow students used this famous stove in Methodist Boys high school, Oron (then part of South Eastern State of Nigeria) to create fantastic dishes. Tell us your Primus Stove story if you can relate to this object.
